About:
Life is a journey and so is our spiritual life.
My name is Frances Acosta. I am a Secular Franciscan, a retired Catholic school administrator, and I am deeply passionate about my Catholic faith. As a Catholic educator for over 30 years, I am honored to have, together with the Holy Spirit, journeyed with children and adults alike as we learned and grew in our spiritual lives. In the spirit of St. Francis and St. Clare, and guided by the Franciscan traditions of joy, hospitality, peace, compassion, and simplicity, I strive to live out those values each day.
I am humbled and grateful to be part of the Franciscan family, where community and service continually shape my vocation. My faith has always been at the center of my life. Raised Catholic, I became especially enamored with the Lord at the age of twelve. After receiving the sacrament of Confirmation, I felt my heart set ablaze with a desire to share God’s love—I wanted to evangelize the goodness of the Lord to all who would listen. My journey was nurtured by wonderful priests and religious who not only walked alongside me but also paved the way to the person I am today.
Journeys don’t happen by accident; welcome to the next step of yours. Our spiritual journey unfolds alongside and within our relationship with God. It must be intentionally nurtured and carefully cultivated through both quiet prayer and faithful action. Prayer keeps us close and helps our bond with God deepen over time. The more we engage in honest conversation and attentive listening, the more we come to know God—and, in the process, come to know ourselves.
Through daily prayer, prayer journals, reading and formation opportunities, whether I am the presenter or participant I nourish my faith daily. It is through those experiences and passion that drew me to establish Stella Mundi Franciscan Ministry. It is the best of who I am and what I love to do, teach, learn and experience.
I invite you to join me in deepening and enhancing your spiritual life. Let your hearts remain open, trust the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit, and steadily grow stronger in your relationship with God.
Be who God is calling you to be!

Who are Secular Franciscans?
The Secular Franciscan Order was established by St. Francis of Assisi more than 800 years ago. Our purpose is to bring the Gospel to life where we live and where we work. We look for ways to embrace the Gospel in our lives and try to help others to do likewise.
What is a Secular Franciscan?
The rule and life of the Secular Franciscans is this: to observe the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ by following the example of Saint Francis of Assisi, who made Christ the inspiration and the center of his life with God and people . Christ, the gift of the Father’s love, is the way to him, the truth into which the Holy Spirit leads us, and the life which he has come to give abundantly . Secular Franciscans should devote themselves especially to careful reading of the gospel, going from gospel to life and life to the gospel.
