Happy New Year!

I don’t know about you, but I am truly grateful to see another year. What a gift! We are never promised tomorrow, so we must appreciate the blessing of today. As I reflect on the past couple of years, I often find myself asking, How did I get here? The evolution and chapters of my life have been dramatic — they would certainly make a compelling movie.

I am sure if you really think about yourself you may come to the same conclusion. As for me, what made those particular years different from all the others is that I didn’t let all the drama, mishaps, losses and the unexpected changes break me. I did not get in the way of God from doing His work. In years past, I fought, questioned and at times struggled with my Creator. “Why me?” was often my song. Once I stepped to the side and intentionally got out of God’s way, I gradually began to see the heavy crosses I carried transform into small, shining Easter Sundays.

God indeed has a plan, one that surpasses anything I could ever imagine. This coming year will be no different; I will remain focused on the present moment, cultivating a life of gratitude each day. I will strive to be the best Franciscan, daughter, sister, and friend I can possibly be, trusting that “God’s wisdom and understanding far exceed our own.” Romans 11:33

How about you?

May your heart and home be filled with peace, good health, and an abundance of great JOY throughout the new year.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your spiritual journey!

Keep at it! Keep praying. Love the Lord.

Peace and Grace.
